Today there is the tendency to see art as a gourmet thing. Music has to fit to your dinner like wine, the new painting has to fit to the furniture of your living room.... that´s terrible for me, art has to be the sting in your flesh...
I have to feel the shit, I don´t care if it´s perfect or played well, I have to feel the urge behind it.
I need to feel freedom and anarchy, pain and protest, joy and humor, darkness and light..
Because of this I like Coltrane, Miles, Hendrix, Marley, Aphex Twin, Brötzmann, Fennesz, Plasticman, Can, Feist, Björk, Nirvana, Johnny Cash, Einstürzende Neubauten, Sex Pistols, Thelonious Monk .......
"musicians" are boring, "artists" are inspiring to me
